How Channel Charger handles the contacts you upload, the email you send, and the activity that results — and who does not get to see any of it.
Your contacts are yours. Your sending activity is yours. Neither is ever shared with the manufacturer whose products you sell, or with anyone else.
Channel Charger is often set up and paid for by a manufacturer for the benefit of its dealers and reps. That relationship does not give the manufacturer any window into your account. They cannot see who is on your list, who you emailed, who opened it, or who bought. We do not report it to them, we do not summarize it for them, and we do not sell it to anyone.
Two groups of people appear in Channel Charger, and this policy covers both.
Users are the dealers, distributors, sales reps, and manufacturer staff who log in and send. Contacts are the customers and prospects a user uploads, types in, or emails through the platform. Contacts never log in and may not know the platform exists. We treat their information as belonging to the user who entered it, and we protect it accordingly.
Your name, business name, work email, phone, logo, and the signature block that appears on your outgoing mail. You give us this so the platform can send as you.
Any list you upload, paste, import, or address a message to — names, email addresses, companies, titles, phone numbers, notes, and any other column your file happens to carry. We store it so you can send to it. That is the entire purpose.
What you sent, when, to whom, whether it was delivered, whether it was opened or clicked, and the quotes, proposals, and orders generated from it. This exists so you can see your own results.
Sign-in times, IP address, browser and device type, and error records. We use these to keep accounts secure and the software working. We do not build advertising profiles from them.
This is the section that matters most, so it is stated plainly rather than buried.
A manufacturer sponsoring Channel Charger for its channel cannot purchase, request, or negotiate access to the information above. It is not a paid upgrade, it is not available on request, and it is not something we will add later for a large enough customer. If a manufacturer asks us for it, the answer is no, and we will tell you they asked.
Delivering email requires infrastructure we do not own. A small number of service providers process data strictly on our instructions and only to run the platform: [EMAIL DELIVERY PROVIDER] for outbound mail, [HOSTING PROVIDER] for hosting and storage, and [PAYMENT PROCESSOR] for billing. Each is bound by contract to use the data only to provide their service, never for their own purposes, and never to market to your contacts. We do not add providers casually, and we do not add ones that treat customer data as inventory.
We will disclose data if we are legally compelled to — a valid subpoena, court order, or equivalent legal process. Where the law permits it, we will notify you first so you have the opportunity to respond. This is the only circumstance in which your data leaves the boundaries described above.
Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Accounts are separated so that one user's data is not reachable from another user's session. Access by our own staff is limited to the people who need it for support and operations, and is logged. If a breach affects your data, we will notify you promptly with what we know and what we are doing about it.
Your data stays as long as your account is open. You can export your contacts and activity at any time, in a standard format, without asking permission. If you close your account, we delete your contact data and activity within [RETENTION WINDOW, e.g. 30 days], keeping only what tax and accounting law requires us to keep.
If your account was sponsored by a manufacturer and that sponsorship ends, your contact data is still yours. We will export it to you. We will not transfer it to the manufacturer.
Every message sent through Channel Charger carries an unsubscribe link and a physical mailing address, as CAN-SPAM requires. Unsubscribes are honored automatically and immediately. A contact who wants to know what is held about them, or wants it deleted, can write to us at the address below and we will act on it, and tell the sending user we did.
You are responsible for having a legitimate business relationship with, or permission from, the people on the lists you upload. We provide the tool; the relationship is yours.
If we change this policy in a way that materially affects how your data is handled, we will notify account holders by email before it takes effect. We will not weaken the protections in Section 3 — those are a commitment, not a current setting.
